After graduation, I took what was supposed to be a short holiday to Miami, Fla. to visit my aunt for some "fun in the sun." I had been accepted into a radiology tech program at St. Francis Hospital, but instead I met my first husband and life took a big turn. What a mistake! But, I did end up with 2 beautiful blonde-haired, blue-eyed children from him. We divorced after 10 horrible years, and I moved back to Tulsa in 1981 as a single mom for about 12 years. Needless to say, life during that time was very challenging. In 1990 I met my current husband while working a temp job at his company. John is the "white knight" who rescued me from myself, Lord knows someone needed to! We will celebrate 21 years of marriage in September 2012, and have 3 adult children between us. We also have 5 lovely grandchildren ages 10 to 20. I no longer work for a paycheck, but I do various types of volunteer work from dog/bird rescue to therapeutic horseriding. We enjoy living on 10 acres with our 3 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, 2 Paint horses, and 2 barn dogs. I received an associate degree in occupational therapy, and have worked in several different environments including home health, sub-acute rehab, and with school children. But, I found my niche in mental health and community social services as a case manager and counselor with non-violent female offenders and their children for over 8 years. My husband and I enjoy traveling and being involved with our grandchildrens' activities. We try to attend everything from football, baseball, and soccer games, weight lifting competitions, cheerleading and competitive dance conventions. Life is good, and life is full....Can't ask for more than that!!!! |

Latest NEWS is that my Partner, Thom Rourke, and I were MARRIED in April 2017 after 21 years as a couple. We are hosting a Reception Celebration Picnic this Aug 29 at our farm in Clarkston, MI. Preparations will interfere with my attending this Reunion. Thom is a retired Architect /Developer and now is Organically farming 2 of our 20 acres for Local Market sales. My 27 year Child Psychiatry career has more recently included 3 years of work with Active Duty Soldiers at Walter Reed & Fort Campbell,KY. Since we moved to MI I have worked with children, general adults and even state prison inmates. My wonderful 43' ketch "Moonlight Fantasy" finally did sell. So now if we sail, its with Thom's High School buddy's boat docked in Muskegan,MI Those of you who know how close I am to my 3 younger sisters might find it interesting that they all are now living in Richmond, VA and 3 nephews are in their mid 20s also in VA. Our parents died in 1989 and 1993 each at 60, So the reunion of Hale Classmates is really my remaining Tulsa connection. Sorry to miss this year's event but I will make a big effort to join You'all next time. |
