Joyce Gendill (Flanders)

Comment: After attending OSU and TU, I taught art in Locust Grove, OK for two long years.  Decided teaching wasn't my thing, so moved back to my birth state of Colorado and worked for several computer companies as secretary and office manager.  Met my husband Jim in 1983 and we lived in Colorado, Arizona and now in Edmond, OK.  We own our own Home Inspection business, which keeps us very busy.  In my spare time I am an animal freak --- we currently have four cats, three dogs, four horses and various strays.  I also do wildlife rehabilitation and have hand-raised orphaned squirrels, raccoons, possums, birds, etc.   No skunks yet!

Kathryn Glover Bishop (Glover)

Comment: I graduated from TU with a B.A. in Psychology in Dec. 1975 and married Gene Bishop in Jan. 1976.  I worked in various jobs, primarily at law firms, doing word processing and bookkeeping.  I went back to school in 1989 and completed my M.S. in Counseling Psychology.  I have been the director of the adolescent residential unit at Parkside Psychiatric Hospital since 2002.  I have one daughter, Christina, who completed her Ph.D. from TU in Chemical Engineering in 2010 and got married a week later.  I have 2 dogs and 2 granddogs.  I'm a sports fan and don't miss any TU football or basketball games.

Comment: I have been married to Randy Gorrell for 36 years.  We have 3 daughters:  oldest deceased; middle married and living in Ft Worth TX; youngest married and living in North Hollywood CA.  I teach 4th grade language arts/reading at Barnes Elementary School in Owasso OK.  I taught in Tulsa after graduating from the University of Tulsa; then was a stay-at-home mom for 20 years before returning to full-time teaching 6 years ago.  My husband owns Endisco Supply Co. (wholesale interior window coverings) and we are active members of First Baptist Church Owasso.

Let’s see.  After high school I married at age 19 for 4 years, divorced 1 year and married that same man again for another 4 years, had to learn that lesson twice.  Married 2 years later to the man that is my husband now.  We have been married for 25 years now.  Guess my name really is, Cheryl Rae Barnes, Gibbons, Barnes, Gibbons, Hiles…well and since Mike Reynolds and I got married at Hale in that home living class or what ever it was I guess I should throw a Reynolds in there at the beginning as well.  J  At least in the end I married the right man of 25 years.  We have two gorgeous daughters.  Courtney is 24 living in Austin working the 6th street bars BUT promises to go back to school in the fall…..we shall see, she only has one year left. J  Sarah is 21 and is in her senior year at Texas State.  Or should I say her first senior year at Texas State.  We have no grandchildren and no hurry for our girls to jump into that but really feeling ready to enjoy that stage in life. 


 


This is my 24th year of teaching, all in special education.  I love teaching but really looking forward to retirement.  Although, w/college loans I don’t see that in the near future.   


 


I loved seeing everyone at our 30th reunion.  A week after the reunion I lost my daddy.  We moved my mother to a smaller condo in Sallisaw, Ok. just this past December.  Now I feel I lost my home front in Tulsa.  With school just starting and prior commitments I will not be able to attend the 35th reunion.  I hope there is a great turn out and want to see many pictures.  I feel our class is one of the great lucky ones…..we all have that wonderful close feeling.  I hope we all have many more reunions together.  Say hello to everyone for me and give them a hug.  We need to all keep in touch.  crhiles@aol.com

Comment: Lived in Houston for 17 years.  Divorced since 1976.  Moved back to Tulsa in 1997 to be closer to my parents.  Mom passed in 2006 and father is still with us.  I have 1 son living in Texas and 3 grandchildren also living in Texas.  I have 2 cats which I adore.

Came to Knoxville, Tn right after graduation to go to school.  Been here ever since!  Previous marriage produced two beautiful children, ages 30 and 28.  Worked for the Dept. of Energy for 19 years in the administrative field. I met Mr. Right(Eric) there and have been married to him for 9 years! We have 6 grandchildren between us and they keep us hopping!  Yes, I still have horses (and dogs) and ride as well as train most everyday.  I'm livin the dream and am truly blessed!

Comment: 10 Grandchildren ranging in age from 7 months to 12 1/2 years.  I was widowed in 1994 and became a groomer for a while.  I am now about to finish my Associate's Degree in Computers and Electronic Engineering Technology at ITT Technical Institute.  I work full time and spend as much time as possible with my family.  It will be good to touch base with everyone again.
